I am a TouchDown Poem by "Javon Monico'' (Final Draft)

     Through obstacles and tricks,
Running through bricks,
run to me and get your six,
Setting goals by making a play
Only 4 downs to make your day,
To score, and make the opponent pay.

Always wanting your hopes and dreams,
Catching and running that ball left and right,
Go for the touchdown because you only have,
4 plays to win the fight,
After you score you go for one more,
I am a champion,
to get the trophy in store.

I make people happy with my game winning score,
but I will make you sad and you'll fall to the floor,
When i'm hurt I will still stand still,
I will be still worth points,
and will be waiting to kill,
who ever comes to me will win, but who ever doesn't
will pay the bill.

Tearing a muscle or breaking a joint
Im only worth 6 plus a point,
Running with all your might through all your walls,
Remember to have faith before your heart falls,
I will be the person with that crown,
The only reason why I'm a touchdown

Off season to games to playoffs,

always have to reach your goals,
wanting to get through the plane,

Poem on a Coney Island Rough draft

Having a hard life where all your hopes go away from you and you don't know where to go in your life. Life can knock you down but you can always get back up.  "A Coney Island Life" by James L. Weil , says  that through all the obstacles in your life live your hopes and dreams because you will never know when your time is up.

The poem seems that if life knocks you down always try to get back up from all the obstacles in your life. Ask your self how much time you think you have before you go. The poem describes James L. Weil having a hard life and wondering "how many times round I have to catch that brass-ring-sun" after all his hopes filled with helium fly sky high away from him. "Now arms filled with dolls I threw so much for I take my perhaps my last ride" is planned that when all your work you put into and everything you did goes far away from you, take your last journey to enjoy your life before its time to leave his planet-carousel.

The poem compares his life to a carnival and James L. Weil predicts in his poem "on rollercoaster ups and downs" saying that their will always be ups and downs in your life and he says  "How many more times round I have To catch that brass-ring-sun Before the game is up." Meaning how much times you have to enjoy your life and hang on till the "game is up"

Although life is a very short matter of time the poem reflects about our rise and falls of life and how you should live it to the fullest. Take your life on a journey and never leave any moment back because you will never know what you might miss. Always try to take your hopes and dreams back if they fly away from you, because it will fall eventually. For all the games you win and for all the things you do, always try to win again and never wait till the game will end.

Parent agenda and reflection

Parent Agenda/Reflection

What did you think about my portfolio?

How do you want me to improve my grade and how do you want me to strive for an A next semester.

What writing trait do you think I have to improve on?

What trait do you think I am good at ( best one out of the four, Ideas, Organization, Voice, Word Choice.

1 Javon's portfolio provides positive insight to his realization that leads him to believe that attaining an A is not unreachable. Positive attitudes coupled with an organized and determined approach to learning will help him attain his academic goals.

2 Javon needs to assert himself with the same tenacity as he did playing football. As a freshman, he realized that he did not have the same physical strengths, knowledge of plays and techniques, and experience as his older team mates. Realizing where his shortfalls are will allow him to be more focused towards achieving his goals. This will not happen overnight, marginal efforts will not work, but a consistent and organized effort with some coaching will help him gain confidence.

3 First of all, in order to have a writing trait he needs to increase his vocabulary. Then he needs to write about something that he really feels passionate about. It could be a daily diary, or a journal or just writing about his life. This will trigger an enormous transition from writing smaller paragraphs with little content to pages full of ideas expressed through a myriad of words captivating even the most judgmental audience.

4 Javon has a great writing trait: Voice. What he can express through his words can be an opening to his heart and his true feelings.

Rail and Hawaii Economy

           Hawaii Rail

In Hawaii there is a lot of traffic and many of our people who have jobs far away from their home are being late because there are so many cars on the road. So the HART (honolulu authority - Rapid transportation) made a project worth billions of dollars. The HART program is borrowing money to pay for the rail using short term bonds that will be paid back using federal funds. This project helps the economy by  helping people get to work on time, helps people far away from home get to their jobs.
Each year during construction, the rail transit project will help generate an average of 10,000 jobs. Thousands of jobs in construction, engineering, and professional services will be created as a direct result of the rail project. In addition, thousands of other indirect jobs will be created by businesses that provide goods and services to the project. The direct investment of federal and local funds will boost the economy and increase demand for goods and services at local businesses, while increasing tax revenues for the City and State. Transit oriented development around rail stations will sustain the demand for jobs in a variety of industries for many years into the future.
The train will start operating from Kapolei to the stadium will open by 2018 and the entire system from Kapolei to Ala Moana center, is set to be fully operational in 2019. The rail will make a difference in traffic because it will eliminate 40,000 cars on our streets and highways. There will be a fleet of 80 train cars, with approximatey 17 four car trains in operation during peak travel periods. There will be 800 passengers per car train and if an emergency case there are emergency phones. The train will be elevated and will be air conditioned.
By 2030, nearly 70 percent of Oahu's population and more than 80 percent of the island's jobs will be located along the 20 mile rail corridor. Rail will connect major residential areas with primary job centers. There will be stops downtown, at three UH system campuses , aloha stadium, the Honolulu international airport and several shopping centers. rail will provide a way to attend special events at Aloha Stadium, catch flights at the airport, or enjoy concerts at the Blaisdell Center, without the hassles of parking and traffic.
In conclusion, I think that this 5.2 billion dollar will help out economy because it will reduce 40,000 cars on the road and people going to college and private school have a ride and people who work far away from their homes they have an elevated rail and they don't have to go through any traffic. This will enhance our community because their are many stops and our population will raise by 2030 and a lot of our stores in the city will raise money because of the transportation. The rail will be traveling at 55 mph and it will be open at 4 am to midnight the next day. It is highly elevated and will take you to places on time.

Querencia Final Draft

Me having so much stress is something I don't want. Finding a place that would take away that stress is somewhere I want to go back to. Where the homework builds up and the test gets harder, and more chores is at school and at home. To get away from all the stress I have. I need to think about what can get me out of all this stress. I need to think of the imaginary door I haven't opened yet. I think of sunsets, waves, fishing and friends. When I thought of opening the imaginary door in my head I see Waimea. Its a beach that I enjoy going to with family and friends. It is so far away from my house that I have to beg my mom to go to that beach. Before going to that beach I would pick up my friends. I could just think of relaxing above the water and on the sand. Waimea would be a beach that my family always loves to go. Its just the gas that we have to worry about because that beach is so far from where I live.

While we were there I would go fishing wish my friends. And we would cast our lines I could hear the sound of the water as the hook sinks down to the ocean, and we would just bet who would catch the fish first. Just sitting down in the hot sun would be relaxing because we would watch the big waves and sometimes it would get so big that the water would come up to our things we would still have a lot of fun, but it was the easiest beach for me to catch fish. But I would never catch one my friends would always catch more than me. When we feel the line jerk we would all be excited because we would know that we caught a fish. We hear the splashing of the fish when it comes out of the water.   We would stay at the beach till 6-7 o'clock for the sunset. We don't really see the sunset but the sun shines on the clouds making orange and it is a nice view to take pictures. When we see the beautiful view we would think of all the good things that happened and we would take pictures of the wonderful view. Orange, yellow, red clouds. It is just a perfect match for the clouds After the sunset I would go with my friends to jump off the rock. The rock would be about 30-40 feet tall and we would jump off the highest level. Before we jumped we would wait till the wave goes up  because we don't want to hit the sand. The first time we jumped took long because we were scared about belly flopping or back flopping or drowning. But sense we all were scared we just chose to jump at the same time. When we all get in the water we could hear the splash and I would think of that splash every time I am stressed out because it would be one thing that would make me happier. After we get to the water we would swim out to the reefs and look at the nice living coral and fishes. While we swim to the shore we would just lay on float on our backs in the nice cold water and just relax and feel free.  This is a place I would love to be than anywhere else because it is a beach far away from my home and away from all the stress.

After going to that relaxing beach we would go to Matsumoto's shave ice and get tasty shave ice. I would always want to eat here because in my opinion they have the best shave ice. My flavors would be Hawaiian rainbow with ice-cream on the bottom, it is the place where I would want to be. My friends would get the lychee and coconut, which I don't usually get. When I'm standing in like I could just hear the shaving of the shave ice. When I hear that sound, its a sound of refreshment and I could just think of the wonderful colors to shave ice. Before we would get shave ice we would have to wait in a long line. Mostly overtime I go to that store we would always have to wait in a long line, so I am kind of used to it. When I get my shave ice it is the most refreshing shave ice I would never want to leave Mastsumoto's because it would make my days and make me feel relaxed. I would feel like I am the happiest person in the world because I would just feel the melting of the tasty ice in my mouth and just when I breath out the fresh cold air I would just want more every time I take a bite

Going home I would think of the bond with me and my friends. I would think of how close we are together. With my friends at the beach is so relaxing and it keeps me away from all the stress. With out them I would be lonely and I would never have someone to count on when I'm down. But when ever I'm down I would put down all the difficult and plan to go to the beach with my friends. I would always thing of the same thing to keep me relaxed. Going back to school would be like a new day for me because I would know that my friends would always be on my side when ever I'm down. I would start doing all my chores and try my hardest to study for my tests. I will start doing these things more often because I know its worth it. This is my Querencia.
