The Merchant of Venice Final Draft Essay

Trust is the root to all relationships. The only way the world can hold together is by trusting one another. Our society is brought together by our trust we have in each other. It is key to trust each other so we can have peace in the world. In the novel the Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare, it portrays a story of what people would do for trust, such as Bassanio and Portia gaining trust to build their lives together. The merchant of venice by Shakespeare teaches us that relationships only can be earned by trust.

In the novel,  trust is the only thing that could hold lives together even through our religious believes. The first thoughts of Bassanio and Portia is like the roots to the tree, the tree looks upon the roots and the roots take care of the tree. They both have faith in each other rather if its sharing money or having the same religion. But sometimes there are struggle in their relation ship like bassanio breaking a promise to her and she states " no just listen to me. Pardon this fault, and I swear by my soul that ill never again break a promise to you. (5.1.250). Then she dresses as a lawyer, and says , "And, in token of your love, ill take this ring from you" (4.1.223). Bassiano doesnt want to give up the ring at first but ends up giving it up. This was done so to test Bassanio's loyalty and also his trust.

Further in the novel, you can understand that there is a trust issue between different religions and how people in this play are mean to each other because of their religion for example when Antonio spit on shylock he states after the talking about the deal " Ill no doubt call you a dog so again and spit on you and kick you, too! If you lend this money, don't lend it as if to your friends. What kind of friendship makes money from a friend? (1.3.127) and antonio confidently accepts the bond for he has great faith in his merchant ships. In our real world some people would lend other people money as long as they give it back. But we cant ask for interest from those who has been trusted because it might not work. Though Antonio is processing to be a better person of a man, it is not enough for shylock to trust him. It is shown that Antonio did not like to have business with shylock. At the end of the deal for a loan, Shylock says " If you don't repay me on such a day, at such a day, such sum or sums as are in the contract, let the forfeit be agreed for a full pound of your fair flesh" (1.3.110).  Their relation ship is even known to the public. To trust another as much as the world this would have a lot of love. The more trust we have for each other in the world the more love and hard work we could have for our society.

As a result, the play reminds us that trust is not given with each other. There for Antonio who's reputation is well known, he will need a lot more than just a reputation to gain the trust of others to do harder work. Even when we are tested at times by those with did not fully trust we will still put in that hard work. We learn that we need to work hard to earn the trust from other people.

merchant of venice

Justice, cruelty, friendship and love comes to life. Think about how our world is with blind love, blind justice, trading and laughing. In the book The merchant of Venice by Shakespeare, tells us how justice is blind, love is blind, and how we trade with each other. "Money is the root to all relationships.

When we trade or have a deal we should always tell the other person what would happen to them if they don't do it because that's what would make them do it. Shylock and Antonio Make a deal that Antonio is willing Shylock to cut his flesh. When comedy comes to the novel just like when Old Gobbo and lancelot were talking because old Gobbo is blind and they are father and son. They were talking like how are you and how do you look like. And then lancelot was like feel the back of his head and old Gobbo said you have a nice beard and we all had a good laugh.

Love is blind because Portia's father had to let her pick a guy but she wants a guy who is right for her not who her father picks or who's rich or better. Jessica and Gratiano escape to love each other and get married But they couldn't because there was problems between them like religion, love, money or law.

All of those words relate to each other relying to the book. Love is related to religion because we have to love each other according to the religion, love relates to money because you have to buy the ring for your wife and pay mortgage. Love is related to law because we have to respect the judges and love the government that takes care of us. Love related to this book because it is funny and has a lot of religion and marriage in it.
